YUM

I made these the other day:  sea salt caramels

DELIGHT! They were SO quick and easy! Mine didn't look anything like the pictures, but it was still unbelievably delicious!

busy

Life has been so busy the last couple of months. A bit stressful if you ask me. Matt's Mom Nancy was in the hospital for pneumonia, but is thankfully out now...only to find out she has a DVT in her leg. Ugh. She is starting to feel a little better, but we'll see how she is after her follow-up appointments. Please pray as she is fragile right now. On another note, work has been hard on both Matt and I but we are working through it. I'm tired of death and trying to comfort families through it. It's been emotionally, physically and very mentally hard for me....usually it doesn't take too much of a toll, so I've struggled a little. Needless to say, I was eagerly anticipating my days off (which is helping). Matt has simply been working through the busy and not-so-busy times but is still hiking/skiing/snowshoeing a ton and loving it.

Two more family friends made their way to the hospital this December. My Mom's accountant and longtime family friend, Charlie, is in the burn unit at Harborview. He is stable but very very sick and in multiple organ failure. I am thankful that I can be a source of knowledge for their family, but as I said before, I'm kind of emotionally worn out. Jessie also has a friend that is at Harborview, but in the Neuro ICU. Again, he is stable but everything(and everyone) is really fragile right now.

I can't tell you how thankful and blessed Matt and I are. We have each other, health, love, support, a (warm) home, jobs, and fabulous friends and family.  I thank God daily for these blessings.

Life hasn't been overly hard, just trying....New Years' weekend was great and was definitely a testament to how blessed we are because of all of our awesome friends!
