A Prayer Chain to Follow

Our dear friend David has recently been diagnosed with a large brain tumor. He is having surgery on Monday morning at UW. PLEASE keep him and his family in your prayers!!  The link that follows is his story of faith through this tumor.

Pure Joy

Something to ponder...

James 1:2-4
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

Romans 5:3
"Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance"

James 5:11
"As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy."

Can you imagine actually having a major trial in your life and considering it pure joy?? Matt mentioned this to me today and I've been thinking about it ever since. I've been through my own share of trials, and not until its long over can I actually see the good that came from it. Hindsight is 20/20. I have always been one to thank God through my trials/temptations, but never have I considered it pure joy.

Its not the "perfect people" who have never made a mistake who are spoken of in the Bible. It is those who have persevered and found their way to an incredible life following Christ.
This is where I need to be. Let me praise God in my circumstances.
Not that I am asking for another trial, but boy, if it gets me closer to God, bring it on!

Hiking Aug/Sept 2011

Matt and I hiked out to Rampart Lakes off of I-90 the end of August. We had an incredible time and can't wait to go back! It's about 4.5 miles out to the collection of small lakes. We camped out right next to one of them and stargazed all night with the fly off of the tent. We were also eaten alive by the mosquitoes!

Here are a TON of pictures! A lot of them are turned and I can't figure out why they turned nor how to turn them back. Good luck! :)

Below are pics from a hike we did last week called Silver Peak, off of I-90 near Hyak. It was a beautiful, warm day!

new post

I really have nothing new to say or report. It's been a not warm, barely there summer and I've been busy with the basics of life. I'm hoping for continued sunshine as I am only working half of my days this month! Praying for better days...

Ruth Mountain

Matt and I on the Kingston ferry. We went out in June to cheer on our friend in a marathon in Sequim.
Here she is! Surprise!!
Whiskey was just hanging out on the lounge chair when I saw there was a rabbit right above his head on the hillside. I thought it was funny how long it took him to realize the little guy was there.
I climbed this mountain!
setting up camp
me on a mountain.
Pretty huh?! We climbed up to the top, just to the right of that rock.
Summit with my honey!!
Looking out across the summit of Ruth Mountain. Beautiful.
